About this work

Vignette with the portrait of the personified Virtue in an oval surrounded by palm branches and angels. Virtue is equipped with a helmet, shield and sword and is laurelled by an angel. In her right hand Virtue holds an arrow, at her foot lies a globe. The print is part of a series of book illustrations on virtues and vices.
