Music for the tragedy Gysbreght van Aemstel by Bernard Zweers

Above an angel kneeling before the Christ child in a manger in a stable. Mary, Joseph and two oxen look on. Below a goddess of vengeance descending upon the walled city of Amsterdam. She holds a burning torch in her right hand with which she sets the city on fire. Behind her Valkyries (goddesses of war) throw themselves upon the city. Above the city the text 'urbs antiqua ruit'. Around the whole a rectangular decorative border with flower and plant motifs.
