About this work
Poetry looks up to the personified Divine Truth, who sits on a cloud. The personified Temperance points to putti bringing books to Poetry. A woman with flame above her head (which symbolizes religious zeal) points to a cornucopia. The representation is enclosed in a cartouche that is decorated with medallions in which virtues are depicted.
