About this work

Monument for Admiral Willem Krul with three soldiers carrying a shield with inscription on a tomb. The tomb is carried by two lying lions and on the side panel a naval battle is depicted with the moment when Krul's ship sinks and he loses his life during the battle against the British at Sint-Eustatius in 1781. Under the monument stands a verse signed with the initials B.B..
