About this work
Maarten van Rossum was lord of Poederoyen in the Betuwe, field marshal under Charles of Egmont and in the service of William of Jülich, Berg and Cleves. He played an important role in the Gelderland uprising. During the last years of his life he was in the service of Emperor Charles V. In armour on a unruly horse. Top left his coat of arms.
