About this work
King Antiochus orders a large cauldron to be placed on the fire to burn the seven brothers and their mother alive. One of them is lifted into the cauldron by soldiers with ropes. On the right foreground, two soldiers cut out the tongue of one of the brothers. Women watch weeping. Illustration of the biblical text 2 Macc. 7. Below the image the title in Hebrew, English, German, Latin, French and Dutch.
