About this work
Christ sits at table with his disciples. He blesses and breaks the bread, causing his disciples to recognize him. To the right, a woman offers a glass of wine, and under the table lies a dog. Below the scene is a six-line Latin text describing the scene and a panegyric on Rubens, comparing him to Apelles.
