View of the hall of the Amsterdam Schouwburg during the outbreak of the fire on May 11, 1772. The fire started during the performance of the opera 'De Deserteur'. The audience flees in panic. On the left, flames strike the hall. Below the performance the title and a four-line verse in Dutch (left) and French (right). Part of a series of four prints with title print about the fire in the Amsterdam Schouwburg.
