View of the hall of the Amsterdam Schouwburg during the outbreak of the fire on 11 May 1772. The fire started during the performance of the opera 'The Deserter'. The audience flees in panic. Flames strike the hall on the left. Below the representation the title and a four-line verse in Dutch (left) and French (right). Part of a series of four prints with title print about the fire in the Amsterdam Schouwburg.
