About this work
Depiction of the cruelties committed by the French troops in Dutch villages in the year 1672, copied after the prints of Romeyn de Hooghe from 1673 (FMH 2439). The depiction shows the murder of the inhabitants of a village by the water. On the right burning houses and a rape, on the left several boats. In the center a French soldier with a struggling child at the end of his lance. The print is numbered: 6.
