About this work
Lady and gentleman, sitting on terrace, in elegant clothing ca. 1625-'30. The man is dressed in breeches, stockings and shoes with bows. His doublet has wide collar and over his left shoulder hangs a loose mantle. Hat with plume on his head. The lady is dressed in gown with very wide millstone collar. Before her chest a bow with pearl necklace (?). The man smokes pipe, the woman has a glass in her hand. Behind the man a monkey by a fountain. Garden with statue in the background.
