About this work

Allegory on the Peace of Amiens, on 27 March 1802, which ended the war between Great Britain and the French Republic, Spain and the Batavian Republic. In the centre Peace floats through the clouds holding an olive branch. Bottom left the exhausted army returns into the fortress.
