About this work
Allegory on the Peace of Amiens, on 27 March 1802, which put an end to the war between Great Britain and the French Republic, Spain and the Batavian Republic. In the center Peace floats over the world where war still rages. She holds an olive branch in her hand and looks with a pleading gaze to the sky. At the bottom war and murder, on the right a family hides from the violence.
