About this work

Allegory on the Peace of Amiens, on 27 March 1802, which put an end to the war between Great Britain and the French Republic, Spain and the Batavian Republic. In the center Peace floats through the clouds holding an olive branch. At the bottom two putti (Commerce and Abundance) with a cornucopia, on the right a city destroyed by war.
