About this work

Naval battle off Cadiz between two Dutch frigates Castor and Den Briel and two English frigates Flora and Crescent, 30 May 1781. The English ship Crescent hopelessly shot by the Dutch frigate Briel under the command of Gerardus Oosthuys, with the other two ships in the background. The caption contains a seven-line poem and a reference to pages 156-157.
