About this work
The Dutch warship Mars, under the command of Rear-Admiral Willem Crul, attacked by three English warships on 4 February 1781. The Mars was escorting a convoy of Dutch merchantmen from Sint-Eustatius. In the caption an eight-line verse and reference to page 164.
