About this work
Under the command of Captain Abraham Scheerenberg, Orangist rioters are driven out of the town hall and the Dam, 9 November 1747. In the occupied town hall, a demonstrator throws a rage bolt out of the window, a mocking reference to the rod carried by the sheriff. In the center, the Nieuwe Kerk; on the right, part of the weigh house.
