About this work

Louis XIII, King of France and Cardinal Armand-Jean du Plessis, Duke of Richelieu, on a turbulent river in a boat with the coat of arms of France. They both wear a chain of the Order of the Holy Spirit. The king gives the anchor to Richelieu. From the mouth of the king comes a scroll with two lines in Latin. In the margin a two-line inscription in French that refers to the strong influence Richelieu had on the policy of Louis XIII.
