About this work
Gideon destroys the altar of Baal with ten servants at God's command. In the background the Asherah pole is felled and transported. From the pole an altar is built, upon which the bull of Joas, Gideon's father, is sacrificed in the distance. In the margin a one-line inscription in Latin.
