About this work

In an architectural frame with two caryatids and at the top Mercury and the personification of Amsterdam. Inside the frame a weaving workshop, with the sea and sailing boats in the background (possibly an address card for a sailmaker). At the top a spider's web. Below the frame attributes associated with weaving.
