About this work
The detail of the abdominal cavity consists of superimposed prints with specific anatomical details; from skin and muscles to lungs and heart. The same applies to the heart and kidneys. The left foot rests on a skull which conceals several superimposed prints with depictions of the cranium. Behind the flap of a flower, the genitalia are visible. This also consists of several superimposed prints with anatomical details. Text in Latin on a ribbon and cartouche. At anatomical details, letters refer to a missing explanatory legend. On the lower sheet, text in Latin in book type within a frame of fleurons.
