On a column Emperor Claudius on horseback. In the background scenes from his life. To the left the construction of a canal connecting the Tiber with the sea. To the right a naval battle reenacted in his honor in one of his famous Naumachia. Cartouches on the column show his marriage to Agrippina and his art patronage. The print has a Latin inscription. The print is part of a twelve-part series about Roman emperors.
