About this work
A triumphal wagon with the representative of ecclesiastical power, the Pope. Next to him sits the allegorical figure of Truth. The triumphal wagon is pulled by a sheep (the Lamb of God), a snake (Providence) and a dove (The Holy Spirit) and steered by the allegorical figure of Faith. In the background some tasks of the clergy: baptism, charity, confession, the eucharist and the sermon. The print has a Latin inscription and a Latin caption and is part of a four-part series on the divine duties of the three estates.
