About this work
Gaius Marcius Coriolanus stands with a huge army before the walls of Rome. His mother Veturia and his wife Virgilia (Volumnia) and his children beg him on their knees not to attack Rome. Coriolanus is convinced by their pleas. The print has a Latin inscription and is part of a six-part series on famous Roman women.
