About this work

A wealthy couple with their children stands on the porch of their house. In front of the porch stands an old and poor couple. The man leans on a cane, and the old woman wipes her tears with a cloth. The rich children point their poor parents out the door. They do not want to care for them. Behind the children, Father Time walks, holding a scythe and an hourglass. He points out that the children also grow old and then must wait to see if their own children will behave better than they did.
