About this work
The personification of Litigation (Lis), a man with a wolf's head, a hell-mouth for a belly and screws for legs, sitting on a throne. He devours a house offered to him by an accuser (Litigiosus). Beside the throne stand the personifications of Neglect of Houses (Negligentia domus) and Wasting of Time (Negligentia temporis). Neglect of the Soul (Negligentia animae) lays the soul of the accuser (Anima Litigiosus) on a rack. The print has three inscriptions (two in Latin and one in Dutch) and is part of an eight-part series on abuses in litigation.
