About this work

In a landscape, a Chinese man, an emperor, stands in the center before a throne with steps under a natural canopy. On the left stand two men, on the right a man with an umbrella. Surrounding the scene is an ornate frame with garlands, vases with flowers, rocailles, floral motifs, winged figures, and a dragon. In the lower margin, a two-line French and German text.
