About this work
The Presentation in the Temple. In a temple, Simeon presents the Christ child to God in the presence of Mary and Joseph and the prophetess Anna. Between Mary and Joseph stands a cage with two doves, the offering for the purification of Mary. Surrounding the scene is a rocaille frame with doves. In the lower margin, twice a seven-line German and Latin text.
