About this work

In the foreground the personification of Spring: a youth crowned with a wreath of flowers. In his hands an arrow and bow and a falcon, attributes of hunting. In the background spring scenes: a milking dairy maid, gardening and walking. Above in the sky the three astrological signs of spring: Aries, Taurus and Gemini. The print has a Latin inscription and is part of a four-part series on the four seasons.
