About this work
In the foreground an older man, the personification of Autumn. In his hands the cornucopia. In the background autumn scenes: ploughing and sowing farmers, the grape harvest and the slaughter of livestock. Above in the sky the three astrological signs of autumn: Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius. The print has a Latin inscription and is part of a four-part series on the four seasons.
