About this work

The keys of the citadel are handed over by Bourse to Liedekercke, 23 August 1577. Liedekercke, Bourse and Roeck, surrounded by soldiers, with the citadel in the background. Depiction in a round medallion with an ornamental allegorical frame, with the seated female personifications of Reason (Ratio) and Faith (Fiducia) at the top. At the bottom, a cartouche with two verses of six lines each in French and Dutch.
