About this work
Boaz receives the sandal at the city gate from a man who, like Boaz, has the right to redeem the land of Ruth and Naomi. The man indicates hereby that he will not exercise his right. A group of city elders witnesses the purchase and Boaz' promise to marry Ruth. Below the image a Latin reference to the biblical text in Ruth 4.
