About this work
In the background on the left, Tobit buries the body of the murdered man whom Tobias found on the street. After the burial, Tobit falls asleep against the wall of his house. One of the birds in the nest above his head drops its droppings on Tobit's eyes, causing him to go blind. At the bottom of the margin, an explanatory text in Latin. After Tobit 2:1-10.
