About this work
The body of the cherub consists of two snail shells and fronds on legs of leaves. Smoke comes from one eye. In the upper left corner flies a winged oil lamp, in the upper right a winged bellows. Plate from a series of flat decorations with grotesques, cartouches, ovals, mascarons, putti, and fantastic creatures. The series consists of three title pages, two text pages with the dedication and preface, and 60 plates, divided into three books.
