About this work

Mascaron surrounded by volutes ending in horns. On the volutes lie shells containing a burning candle, held by a bird with its beak. On the left and right, a snake floats out into a spiral. The series consists of three title pages, two text pages with the dedication and preface, and 60 plates, divided into three books.
