About this work
The Tower of Babel is being built. In the foreground, men are cutting and carrying stones in baskets. On the right, a man, possibly Nimrod, makes a pointing gesture. On the left, construction work: stones are being cut and transported with donkeys, ovens are being stoked. Below the scene, a Latin reference to the Biblical text in Gen. 11:4.
