About this work

The unmerciful servant stands in an open room before the king's throne and must account for his behavior. His debts had been forgiven by the king, but he had subsequently had another servant imprisoned because that servant owed him something. The king is angry because the servant did not show mercy as he did. On the table are cash books and an inkstand. In the foreground a dog. Below the image a reference in Latin to the biblical text in Matt. 18:32. This print is part of an album.
