About this work

In the temple, on the left in the foreground, sits Christ, pointing to a veiled poor widow for two of his disciples. Richly dressed people approach the offering chest to throw in large sums of money. The widow has thrown in only two coins, but according to Christ this is more than the rich give, because she gave out of her poverty. Below the image a reference in Latin to the Biblical text in Mark 12:41. This print is part of an album.
