About this work
Ornamental letter E of the biblical figure Esau, although he himself is absent. In the center of the letter E stands a naked woman with a laurel wreath on her head. Atop the letter sits a putto holding a bowl or dish. On the lower right is a seated winged putto with a fishing rod. The letter is further decorated with a bird, flowers, bunches of fruit, and a lobster. On the verso are verses in Latin and German. The print is part of an album.
