About this work
Ornamental letter D with King David on the right holding a harp and a letter. On the left is a naked woman with a serpent, likely representing evil and alluding to King David's affair with Bathsheba. At the bottom of the letter D sits a winged putto, and in the center is a trophy with spears and a banner. The letter is further decorated with birds, flowers, bunches of fruit, and a fish. Below the putto is an ornament with a bow and arrows and a quiver. On the verso are verses in Latin and German. The print is part of an album.
