About this work

Winged female personification of Peace trampling Discord under her feet lying on the ground among weapons. Standing before a monumental building with frieze and obelisks (one crumbling), in the clouds two putti with a wreath of olive branches around the title. With inscription of five lines in Dutch. Allegory on the Eternal Edict and the announcement of this peace treaty in Antwerp on 27 February 1577.
