About this work
The allegorical figure of Sight. She holds a mirror and looks into it. She is accompanied by an eagle. In the background two Biblical scenes: the healing of a blind man by Christ (John 9:1-8) and God forbidding Adam and Eve to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:16-17). The print has a Latin inscription and is part of a five-part series about the senses.
