About this work

The god Sol (Apollo) as personification of the Sun in a triumphal chariot drawn by horses. In his hand he holds a scepter. In the upper corner the sign of the zodiac symbolizing his planetary children: Leo. Below on earth are the people born under the influence of this planet engaged in activities characteristic of this sign. They walk in a procession and some are crowned. In the margin a sixteen-line poem, in four columns, in Latin referring to the metal gold associated with the Sun.
