About this work
In the air floats the planet goddess Venus. She is accompanied by Cupid. In the foreground the personification of Diligentia, diligence. Diligence is a lace worker working in the sprang technique. Around her other girls busy themselves with music and bobbin lace. Next to her stands a young man with a falcon. In the background a dancing couple. The print has a Latin inscription and is part of a seven-part series on the power of the seven planets over the seven ages of man.
