About this work
In the procession behind Queen Money follow Honor (Honor), Splendor (Splendor) and Fame (Fama). Although positive, their attributes point to their transience. Honor holds flowers and an incense burner, Splendor a sealed document and Fame blows on a trumpet. Between them four sycophants (Parasiti), who profit from others' wealth and success. The print has a Latin inscription and a Dutch and French inscription in letterpress. The print is part of a series with the subject the misery that wealth brings.
