About this work

On a pedestal sits the Amsterdam city maiden with the coat of arms of Amsterdam. She has her arm extended towards the horn of plenty held by a putto with a winged helmet. To her right a putto flies with a crown in his hands, in front of her a putto kneels with a book on a cushion. Above in the sky a putto blows a trumpet holding a medallion with the image of a sailing ship.
