About this work

Father Time with a scythe holds draperies aside and thus reveals a woman with a mirror, possibly History with the mirror of truth. In front of the woman, an eagle. Above her, a putto with the Ouroboros snake. To the left, a group of men and a kneeling angel with a book. In the foreground, three chained figures lie.
