About this work

The envoys of Jephthah ask the king of the Ammonites why he attacks them on their own ground. The king answers that the area from the Arnon to the Jabbok and the Jordan belongs to him and therefore must be returned to him without a fight. Below the image a reference in Latin to the biblical text in Judges 11:12. This print is part of an album.
