About this work
The prophet Nathan comes to King David and tells him a parable about a rich man who took the lamb of a poor man and slaughtered it. Nathan points to the poor man and the dead lamb beside him. With this parable, Nathan tells David that he has acted like the rich man. David kneels and admits that he has sinned by committing adultery with Bathsheba and having her husband Uriah killed. Below the image, a Latin reference to the biblical text in 2 Samuel 12:1. This print is part of an album.
