About this work

The Bride of Christ (the Church) sits on a throne in a temple. Christ stands with his cross outside in a garden, and through a window his hand touches her shoulder. In the background, spectators watch a high priest preaching over the tables of the law, and a lamb is sacrificed on an altar. Below the image is a reference in Latin to the Biblical text in Song of Solomon 5:1. This print is part of an album.
